The High Peak Branch was formed in 2001 in the back room of a pub in the heart of the peak district. At the initial meeting about 20 people turned up, and at the time no-one had any idea that the branch would take off with around 400 members being currently on the books, there are a number of them that are not resident in the UK, but are friends we have made on our travels following Manchester United and colleagues from all 4 corners of the earth. We have approximately 150 attending all our home games and a substantial number travelling to away games, subject to ticket availability or course.
The branch generally holds meetings on the last Thursday in the month, The venue is generally at The Navigation in Marple and although we can and do hold meetings in Whaley Bridge, Chapel and Glossop this has become the main meeting place. The meetings inform our members about tickets and travel to home and away games, for both domestic and European games. We often travel as a group for pre-season games for both the first team and the reserves, with some great trips having been organised.
We try to raise funds for local charities and for the MU Foundation by organising different events.
